An Atlanta native, Markham attended the University of Georgia, graduating in 1988 with a
Graphic Design degree. He freelanced as an illustrator for a year before landing at Turkel
Advertising in Miami, Florida. There he began his career as an Art Director, working on such
clients as American Express, The Lipton Tennis Championships, and The Orange Bowl.
Markham joined the up and coming ad agency Crispin, Porter + Bogusky in Miami in the fall
of 1990. There he
|
continued his climb into the art direction world, working on clients such as American Legacy Foundation,
AT&T Wireless, Caterpillar, Cellular One, The Miami Herald, The Golf Channel, The FloridaMarlins, Florida
Panthers Hockey, Majesty Cruise Lines, The Shimano Corporation, TRUTH, and the Miami Zoo.
In the almost ten years he was there, CP+B went from a local shop of 30 to an internationally acclaimed
creative powerhouse of 150.
In the spring of 2000, he moved back to his hometown of Atlanta to take the creative reins at Westwayne,
where he worked on Bellsouth and BellSouth Wireless, Cingular, The Real Yellow Pages, Russell Athletic,
Southeast Toyota, and The Sports Authority.
In 2002, Markham moved to Minneapolis, to join the longtime creative culture at Carmichael Lynch, as Group
Creative Director. There he was primarily responsible for worldwide creative direction on Northwest
Airlines, and Tractor Supply Company, as well as creative duties on Porsche Cars North America, Harley
Davidson, and Blue Cross.
Markham joined BrightHouse in March 2003. In the last ten years, Markham's work has been featured in
various places as The Clios, The One Show, Communication Arts Magazine, PRINT, Graphis, USA Today,
London's D&AD, The Advertising Festival at Cannes, The New York Times, Fast Company Magazine, and Mountain
Bike Magazine.
Markham worked many summers as a lifeguard. He is an avid cyclist and windsurfer. He has a highly
impractical attachment to old cars. He lives in Atlanta.

Prior to consulting, Joseph was Director of Interactive Media at TBWA\Chiat\Day and OMD USA, where he worked on
clients including Kmart, ABSOLUT Vodka, Embassy Suites and Samsonite.
Joseph brings with him a diverse mix of both client and agency experience, on both the traditional and
Interactive sides of the business. He is a regular contributor on iMediaconnection.com and his weekly
"Jaffe Juice"
column is a favorite read within the industry. Jaffe's first book, "How to Fix Marketing" is due in Q4 of 2004.
Jaffe is a founding faculty member of iMediaLearning, and has also lectured part-time at NYU's Stern
School of Business, Cornell's Johnson School of Business and Syracuse University.
Hailing from South Africa, Joseph lives with his wife and two children in Westport, Connecticut.
