GARY TOPOLEWSKI
Chief Creative Officer

Gary Topolewski is chief creative officer of BBDO Detroit. He was appointed to the position
June 2004.
Prior to holding his current position, Topolewski served as chairman and chief creative officer
of chemistri in Troy where he was responsible for all creative operations for Cadillac, Pontiac
and GMSPO divisions of General Motors.
He previously served as executive creative director at
|
TBWA/Chait Day in Los Angeles, where he worked on SonyPlayStation; XM Satellite Radio; Museum of Contemporary Art,
Los Angeles (MOCA); and a variety of new business and dot-com accounts.
He spent 11 years at Bozell Worldwide, where he rose to chief creative officer. His Bozell creative team won every
industry award for its work on Jeep, including the coveted Cannes Grand Prix Trophy in 1994. At Bozell, he also was
responsible for DaimlerChrysler Global, the Chrysler and Plymouth brands and dealer association retail work.
In 1996, Topolewski was selected as one of Crain's Detroit Business' "40 under 40", which recognizes the achievements
of Detroit Area business people. In 1997, he was honored nationally as one of the advertising industry's top
professionals age 40 or younger by the American Advertising Federation and inducted into the Federation's Hall of
Achievement.
He began his career in 1980, as a copywriter at W.B. Doner in Southfield, Michigan. Later, he moved to J. Walter
Thompson in Detroit to write for Ford before joining Campbell Mithun Esty in 1989. In addition to his work on the
automotive industry, Topolewski has written for a myriad of retail accounts and for such diverse brands as Hush
Puppies, Little Caesers, Consumers Energy, Honda motorcycles, Vlasic pickles, Mattel Hot Wheels, Champion Spark
Plugs and the Michigan Lottery.
Topolewski graduated from Michigan State University in 1980 with a bachelor of arts degree in advertising.
He lives in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

Joseph brings with him a diverse mix of both client and agency experience, on both the traditional and
Interactive sides of the business. He is a regular contributor on iMediaconnection.com and his weekly
"Jaffe Juice"
column is a favorite read within the industry. Jaffe's first book, "How to Fix Marketing" is due in Q4 of 2004.
Jaffe is a founding faculty member of iMediaLearning, and has also lectured part-time at NYU's Stern
School of Business, Cornell's Johnson School of Business and Syracuse University.
Hailing from South Africa, Joseph lives with his wife and two children in Westport, Connecticut.
